About Me
I am a limited licensed professional counselor that was educted in the Detroit Public School system. I graduated from Cass Technical High School and continued on to Wayne State University to pursue a degree in Education. After a short time in the classroom, I saw that adolescents needed much more than a teacher. Many students were experiencing or had experienced trauma at some point in their lives and their needs in the classroom was beyond my scope as a classroom teacher. They needed an adult to help them navigate through life's challenges and tough situations. Sometimes a parent was not there physically, mentally, or both. I continued my education at Wayne State to pursue a masters degree in Counseling.
My passion for helping adolescents, primarily adolescent girls grew. Unfortunately, there is only so much you can do inside the parameters of a school. In 2019, I decided to take my passion one step further and begin private practice, Healthy Healing Counseling Services, where we focus on adolescent girls and women. Our mission is to provide a safe place for female adolescents and women to heal from life's hurts and trauma so that they can be healthy and whole and reach their highest potential.
